Rose & Sam

Rose and Sam's engagement session is something summer dreams are made of. It was the perfect evening at Shelburne Farms with golden light shining down, the forests finally lush and green, and of course, that beautiful view of Lake Champlain. I had so much fun just wandering through the property chatting with them both about their childhoods, their relationship, and hopes for their wedding day.

Rose and Sam are so sweet together. They are quiet and patient, always learning more about each other, and always ready to have fun together. Their personalities mesh so perfectly, creating a love that's unique to them. Together they love to ice skate, hike, kayak, and spend time with their fur-baby, Chester! They've been on many adventures together, but their perfect date night includes takeout Thai from their favorite restaurant and watching a movie on their projector.

Their proposal story is something straight out of a storybook. Rose and Sam were on a Valentine's Day trip to Ottowa during their winterlude festival. Now having traveled together, they know how they both will pack and prepare for the trip. As a notoriously light packer, it caught Rose's attention when Sam began filling their car up with lots of bags. Since Sam had told Rose she couldn't look at them, she knew something was up but didn't want to assume anything. The night after they arrived they had a reservation at a nice restaurant for dinner. Sam gave Rose explicit instructions to get ready in the bathroom and not come out until she was told to. After what felt like an eternity waiting in the bathroom wondering what Sam had been doing all that time, she stepped out to quite the surprise. Rose opened the door, walked down the hallway, and saw his camera and tripod set up. She saw the living room all dark with a bunch of candles, rose petals, and light up letters spelling “marry me”. In Rose's words, "He did a beautiful job setting up and putting his camera on a timer so we could remember it. He bought special lighting for it and wrote out everything he was going to say on a piece of paper. It was truly so sweet and magical."

Rose and Sam truly cannot wait for their wedding day this fall. Out of everything they're planning, they are most excited to be in the same room as everyone they love, and to be with the person they both want to spend forever with. I cannot wait to celebrate these two on the perfect fall day in Stowe!
