Megan and Lewis
Megan and Lewis had reached out to me in January to shoot their June wedding, only a few months after they had gotten engaged. In the wedding world, this is a really quick turn around time to get everything planned! I knew we had to squeeze in an engagement session, which considering how cold Vermont stays into April, was going to be tough. But, we had the most beautiful Memorial Day weekend weather-wise, and it was the perfect opportunity to do an engagement session!
They immediately knew they wanted to take photos at Kent's Ledge, a special place to them both, for multiple reasons. Megan and Lewis both attended Vermont Law School. This is where they would meet and their love story would begin. Lewis thought Megan was the smartest person in their class and had to introduce himself. Slowly throughout the semester, they became friends and frequently hiked Kent's Ledge to take a break from schoolwork. The rest was history. Nowadays, their perfect date includes the ideal morning adventure. Up bright and early to go birding, followed by pastries and coffee at a cute cafe.
After law school, Megan and Lewis moved and started a family with their cats, Little Man and Rats, and their dog, Loon. When planning the proposal, Lewis knew the perfect way to ask Megan to marry him. He had coordinated with a friend to invite them back down to South Royalton, where Vermont Law School and Kent's Ledge is located. Lewis knew that Megan would want to hike Kent's Ledge when they were down there to relive some memories. Although they had discussed an engagement, had a ring picked out and everything, Megan was surprised at how quickly it all happened! Of course, Megan and Lewis had hiked Kent's Ledge on that visit, but Megan had no clue what she was in store for. At the top, she suggested her and Lewis pose for a photo. When he went to take the photo, he pulled out the ring and proposed! Their dog, Loon, was just as excited as Megan was, and she of course, said yes.
Just a few weeks out from their big day, it was so lovely to get to know these two! They are so relaxed, go with the flow, and down for any adventure. They were most excited to be surrounded by their friends and family on their wedding day. I could not wait to see their wedding vision come to life at one of my favorite venues, Bliss Ridge Farm!
